An exceptionally small lot originating in the granite soils of our Western Addition Vineyard, this bottling was taken from a single new French barrel selected from the larger 2017 vintage. Set aside to balance the angular, cedary aspects of the young Petit Verdot against a higher proportion of new oak, this reserve was then cellared for an additional year of bottle aging. The result is a rich, full-bodied wine with rounded yet nuanced fruit framed by firm tannins and a touch of sweet wood spice. Blackberry, boysenberry, and black cherry mix with traces of nutmeg, thyme, black pepper, and a dusty minerality.
