A rarity in the United States and selcom vinified on its own, Tinto Cão is a Portuguese grape variety capable of producing elegant, intriguing wines that can sometimes defy simple description. Estate grown in our vineyards in southern Monterey County's San Antonio Valley, the 2017 vintage provides  medium-bodied presentation of the variety with moderate tannins and nuanced, complex fruit. Handcrafted on a limited scale, it was fermented in a single small lot and aged in Frnech oak for 18 months. Notes of sour cherry, blueberry, pomegranate, and cranberry are accompanied by elements of earth, spice, and florality.
